The Emotion Identification and Labeling PDF can be printed and displayed to help children expand their “feelings words” vocabulary. By providing a visual and practicing the use of how you may identify these feelings helps children specify what emotion they are experiencing, and can lead to better communicating their needs.
This PDF has 3 “How Am I Feeling?” crafts that can be printed and cut to select an emotion you, your child, or others are feeling. For this craft you will need the printed chart (suggested to print on cardstock), a pipe cleaner, and a bead. Place the bead on the pipe cleaner, then poke a hole to insert the pipe cleaner through both “X” marks. Now you should be able to slide the bead on the pipe cleaner to match the emotion you want to identify.
The “I’m Sorry Sandwich” craft can be printed and cut out to help children develop skills on apologizing. The three parts included in this apology are : acknowledging the mistake or “wrong”, deciding how to make it better by correcting the mistake or asking for help, and then putting that plan into action! This template is offered in color or b&w, as well as with or without examples.
